Babycottons Boy Infant Sleepwear

Babycottons is my favorite brand for newborn, infant + toddler sleepwear. The quality of their pajamas + all their products are the best, in my opinion. My boys actually have the exact same items I linked above.

I first got hooked on this brand when I was pregnant with Liam, and I stared buying newborn items. I fell in love with the soft pima cotton + adorable prints. The beanies, booties, footies + romper sets are so cute + so soft! And as many times as Liam used his footies and sleep sets, not one ever ripped, faded, pilled or lost it’s softness. They just wash and wear incredibly. That’s how I justify the cost! As Liam grew out of his items, I kept them in case I had another boy. Sure enough, I did! Now Mason (6 months) uses the ones Liam (2 years) used to wear, and I still keep buying items for both of them as they grow.

Of course I have other brands I use for the boys, but in my case, after only a few washes I’ve experienced some items that have ripped at the waistband, faded, or pilled. The quality is just not there. I may have only spent $20 on those other pajamas or onesies, but if they only last about month and then I have go out and buy another set, I’d rather just invest in a brand that I know is going to last years (because they have!).

Babycotton items make great baby shower gifts too! I own several blankets + toys. Some were gifts. They carry from size preemie up to 8 years.

As many of you may know, I had my second baby boy (Mason Nicolas) almost 10 weeks ago. He is such a sweet baby, so calm + happy. His big brother Liam (who will be turning two next month) loves him to pieces! They are the loves of my life! ♥

Since having Mason, I’ve racked-up some more favorites >> some items listed above are for me also, to make my life just a liiiiittle bit easier. Most of the products I use on a daily basis. If you’re expecting or have a friend or family member having a baby, pass this information along. I hope you/they will find these products as useful as I have!

1| Nuk manual breast pump:  I have an expensive electric breast pump as well (since having my first baby). But I wanted to try a manual too because I just get so sick + tired of all the tubes, hooking up to everything, the noise, feeling like a cow being milked…just all the crappiness that comes along with electric pumping! Well, this manual pump is actually more of a pleasant experience. I use it for those in-between times when I just need to store some milk or empty my breast because I feel too full. It’s comfortable, quick + easy to use. I mostly use it while I’m watching TV + I can usually get around 3 oz. in 10-15 min. Since buying this pump, I have not used my electric. It’s got rave reviews online. I can see why!

2| Baby foam shampoo:  I love Mustela products. I received this one as a gift + I’m so glad I did! This foam shampoo works especially great if your baby has cradle cap (dry, flaky skin – similar to dandruff). Mason had a mild form of it + after just 3 uses, it was gone. I LOVE the clean, fresh baby smell + how silky soft his hair is afterwards (Mason was born with a full head of hair + still has it!). I still use it although he doesn’t have cradle cap, it’s still a good everyday shampoo.

3| The best rocker ever invented!:  One word: Hallelujah! Yes, it’s that good. The rockaRoo by 4moms is the best! Mason loves it. When I need my hands-free for cooking + getting things done (like this post), I put Mason in the rocker + he’s entertained for a good while or he ends up falling asleep. 4moms also makes the mamaRoo, which I hear nothing but great things about that version too. A MUST to add to your registry!

4| The Quint Carryall:  A great organizer for almost any handbag. I use this when I don’t want/need to carry my larger diaper bag » (find my diaper bag here). I pop this carryall in my TB tote (find my Tory Burch here) and I’m on my way!

5| Honestly good face + body lotion:  My whole house is filled with chemical-free products. I’m a huge believer in keeping my environment + my kids as natural as possible. That’s why I LOVE The Honest Company! I get products for my house + the babies sent right to my door every month (which means 55 less trips a week to Target for me- haha!). I use everything from the diapers to bath products to laundry detergent from The Honest Co. I’m a fan of this lotion because of the crappy chemicals that it doesn’t have in it, how it absorbs into my babies’ skin, the fresh scent + how hydrating it is. » (sign up for a free trial OR subscribe to a monthly bundle here).

6| This cute traveling play pad:  These play pads from blablakids are so cute, so cuddly-cushy (100% cotton) + great for taking to a family members’ house or to the park. It obviously travels well, but I use it in my home all the time too.

7| Room spray: Diaper pails tend to get a little stinky sometimes! This room spray is my favorite. It has a great fresh, pure baby scent. It’s worth it + a big bottle like this last forever!

8| Baby Cottons sleepwear:  Ever since Liam was born I have been a loyal Baby Cottons client!  He + Mason have tons of footies, rompers + sets from BC. I love them so much because (although pricey), their items are soooo soft » all made from 100% pima cotton, they wash incredible + last forever! Mason uses some from when Liam was an infant. They’ve been washed/used 1000 times over + his clothes are still perfect! Nothing compares.

9| This nursing tank:  When I’m at home, I’m mostly in loungewear. And this cami is perfect to wear around the house. It’s comfortable, stretchy + easy to use while nursing» I own 4.

10| Dry Shampoo:  Another time saver + hair saver! No Drought, absorbs the excess oils in my thick hair perfectly- allowing my blow dry to last a few days longer. It has a nice citrus fresh scent + adds a little volume also. For busy moms – it’s a MUST!

11| My favorite multi-tasking makeup product:  This ‘Full Coverage SPF 50 CC+ Cream’ by IT Cosmetics is EVERYTHING! It’s my full-coverage foundation cream, anti-aging serum + SPF. One product and I’m out the door! It’s formulated with good-for-your-skin ingredients + it’s just so easy to use. It helps correct my skin tone + imperfections, infuses my skin with peptides + vitamins (+more), + leaves my skin looking dewy! LOVE-LOVE-LOVE♥ (FYI a little goes a LONG way). The best value is found on QVC.

So tell me moms, what are your FAVES?

Cute Finds For A Nursery

June 20, 2014

My inner “interior decorator” side has emerged this week! I’ve been busy clearing out our 2nd guest room to turn it into my sons nursery.  So I’ve been inspired this week to share some nursery decor finds, perfect for brining home the baby! Here are a few of my favorite things…

Favorite Nursery Bedding for Girls {Fiona Collection bedding from Serena & Lily:  gorgeous pattern, with wispy wild blooms in gorgeous embroidery. The look is current and vintage all at once!}

Functions as an extra sleeping and resting spot for baby, but it also transforms into your favorite toy storage bin once your child is older. Made of heavy-weight cotton duck with nautical detailing. Includes canvas basket, mattress, bumper, and fitted sheet. Ideal for ages 0-4 months.}
Favorite Diaper Bag {Aqua Classic Diaper Bag from Pottery Barn Kids: This color is perfect for a girl or boy! It includes a changing pad, a detachable shoulder strap and plenty of pockets.
17″ wide x 7″ deep x 13″ high}
Favorite Bassinet {White Hand-Woven Baby Bassinet from The Land of Nod: Bedding comes in Green, Navy & Pink. Bassinet also comes in Mocha.}
Any of these items would make perfect gifts for the expecting mom!

My Must-Haves for Babies/Toddlers

June 16, 2014
In preparing for baby #2, I got to thinking: Since my first was a newborn, what do I continue to use/like now that he’s 1 1/2? As new moms we go crazy buying and registering for everything (it’s part of the fun & excitement of it all)! But we soon find out- babies/toddlers need only basics. They are just as often happier banging around your pots & pans in your kitchen, than they are with the 85 toys you have in their play room.
So besides the obvious essentials you need when preparing for your first, second, or even fourth child…I put a list together of some products & items that I use on a daily basis & think that every mom should have (& keep until you know your done having kids). I’m lucky I can re-use a lot because I’m having another boy, but there are definitely items I have to buy for his nursery {more on that later}.
It’s about finding what you & your baby/toddler are happy with & sharing your discoveries with other mommies! ♥
{Baby Cottons PJ’s, Boppy nursing pillow, Cloud B Tranquil Turtle, Aden & Anais/Restoration Hardware stroller blanket, PBKids ‘shark’ bath towel, Virgin-Unrefined /Organic Coconut Oil, California Baby hair product, SheaMoisture Olive & Marula Baby Head-To-Toe Lotion,
Bath Products: Babyganics shampoo-bodywash, California Baby bubble bath}

The List:

California Baby Products:  Chemical-free products made with aromatherapy oils (I mostly use their Bubble Bath & Shampoo/Body Wash).

Baby Cottons PJ’s:  These are by far my favorite brand for newborns & up! The footies, playsuits, bodysuits, blankets and accessories made of 100% Peruvian pima cotton. They are a bit pricy, but worth it!

Coconut Oil:  I’m a HUGE fan & user of coconut oil in my house. I use it for many, many things, including my baby’s skin. If you haven’t heard yet: coconut oil has infinite benefits! Use it to help heal cradle cap, dry/sore nipples from breast feeding, rashes, moisturize baby’s skin, etc.

Sophie the Giraffe:  My son doesn’t use this teether anymore :( but he did love it. I’ve kept them for when my second baby is ready.

Stoller Blanket: It’s an obvious item, I know! But it’s great to mention to always have many of them. My favorite ones I’ve had monogramed. Make sure to have lightweight ones for warmer weather, and thicker/plush ones too. My favorites are from Aden + Anais and RH Baby & Child.

Tranquil Turtle:  I bought this for my son a couple of months ago and he loves it! I put this on when it’s bedtime, & its so soothing. It projects this serene (adjustable) blue water effect. It also offers two calming sound choices: gentle melody or whispering waves.

Born Free Bottles:  After I was finished nursing, I started using these bottles. They are great! They are BPA free, the bottles feature ActiveFlow Venting Technology which is clinically designed to reduce colic and gas and allows the baby to control the mild flow for an experience closer to breastfeeding.

The Natures Lullaby Collection I CD or Download from iTunes:  My son LOVES this soothing music (and me too). We still play it EVERY night. This collection of favorite lullabies is complemented by the restful sounds of mother nature. It’s the best! Find it on iTunes or buy the CD.

Cute Bath Towel (PBKids):  I love their hooded bath towels!

Swing:  Another obvious must-have! I like the swings by: 4moms & Ingenuity. The 4moms swing makes movements that mimic the way you move. Ingenuity swings have a bunch of cool features like, Smart phone connectivity that lets you personalize entertainment, electronic mobile spins and glows, swing rotates at 180 degrees in 3 swing directions and more!

Good Baby Monitor (Summer Infant):  Because I will be having 2 babies under 2, I still need a baby monitor. I want to upgrade from the monitor I have now to the Summer Infant Dual View Video Monitor System. Benefits are for parents with multiple children or multiple rooms. It features two pan/scan cameras with zoom and two-way talk-back.

Professional Photographer:  This is a MUST! Start hunting for a professional photographer to capture all your family memories when you’re pregnant. Even if taking maternity photos isn’t your cup of tea, you will want a photographer once your baby is born and thereafter!

Inglesina Fast Table Chair:  I avoid using the high chairs that restaurants provide whenever possible (yuck!). I purchased the Inglesina chair when my son was able to sit up on his own, & I have used it ever since. It’s portable, compatible with most tables, comes with its own carrying bag that’s attached, it’s washable & has a maximum weight capacity of 37 pounds.

SO there you have it…my must-haves! What are your favorites for your baby/toddler?
