Current Favorite Organic Skin Care Products | Acure, Evan Healy + Coola

July 29, 2016

Favorite Organic Skin Care ProductsI’ve been using these products from 2-6 months. Long enough for me to see the difference in my skin and be able to talk about them with confidence.

These organic skin care products have become part of my everyday ritual.

What I LOVE about organic skincare, besides the obvious, better-for-your-skin answer. Is that these specific brands are not only better for your skin, but also for the planet, are cruelty-free, and chock-full of fresh & pure ingredients.

Evan Healy Sea Algae Serum

{ Sea Algae Serum, $39.95USD }

Just like the farm-to-table concept, Evan Healy incorporates a plant-to-skin sourcing philosophy. This brand works directly with farmers, plant distilleries & tribal villages. Not only to make wonderful hand-crafted beauty, but also to help sustain these villages, women + children, and farms. So essentially if you buy Evan Healy products, you’re not only going to have better, more beautiful skin, but you’ll be a part of something bigger!

This serum is MAGIC! Hands-down the best eye product I’ve tried so far. That’s a big statement coming from me. It has amazing ingredients such as:

…”fresh raspberry leaf extract, known for its skin firming effect, Hyaluronic acid, which holds moisture to skin forming a protective barrier. Seaweed, algae, and sea buckthorn berry oil combine to firm and nourish, Gotu Kola supports the body’s synthesis of collagen, and connective tissue maintenance…” (Click the link above to find out more about what these pure ingredients do)!

Though it has “serum” in its name, it has more of a milk consistency to me. It sinks directly into the skin, so I never have a greasy or thick creamy under-eye area, which you know is a nightmare to put concealer over! I also feel an almost instant firming feeling…every time. Which to me suggests it doesn’t lose its potency. And I’ve also noticed a brighter & firmer eye area. Seriously…THE BEST!

ACURE

{ Day Cream | Normal-Dry Skin | $16.99USD }

ACURE has quickly become another favorite of mine. This sustainable company similarly uses plant and food-based ingredients to get real results. ACURE’s Mission is simple- …”feeding your skin properly as you would your body internally is the only way to optimize its function…”

I use this day cream for those days that I know I’ll be staying in at home, or when I need that extra moisture. It has a lovely citrus scent. It can be worn day/night, and under make up too because although it’s very moisturizing, it is not thick or greasy feeling.

ACURE

{ Seriously Firming Facial Serum (oil), $19.99USD | Rosehip Oil, $10.99USD }

I started with these oils from the line first, and then I was hooked. After I saw and felt the difference of skin I was convinced to keep trying more from this brand. Besides my occasional hormonal break-outs, my skin has never looked more healthy.

I mix 1 drop of each oil into the palm of my hands, and apply these oils every day/night.

Rosehip oil balances the oils in your skin because of its low pH. It also contains essential fatty acids and vitamin E. The Seriously Firming Facial oil, contains rich antioxidants, organ oil, borage oil and cranberry. All of these ingredients work together to help revitalize the skin, restore moisture, soothe inflammation, and get rid of free radicals.

ACURE

{ Brightening Vegetable Peel, couldn’t find on websites. Use Facial Scrub. | Brightening Facial Scrub, $9.99USD }

I couldn’t find this peel anywhere, I’m sorry! BUT I found it at my local Whole Foods market. If you, can I suggest you look for it there. If you have sensitive skin and never got along with peels, then you must try this one. I found that It’s gentle, yet effective in brightening, clearing and smoothing my skins texture.

Okay, so I love using this scrub! It smells like kale & lemons- haha, but totally worth it (the natural scent doesn’t bother me)! It contains sea kelp and lemon peel to gently exfoliate your skin, and French green clay removes oil and impurities. My skin looks & feels squeaky clean after I use this 3 times a week. I’m ADDICTED! It’s good for all skin types.

Deep Steep

{ Body Butter, $10.95USD }

Deep Steep, is one of my favorite go-to natural brands for the body. Specifically, I enjoy the Body Butter, Bubble Bath and Sugar Scrub. It’s like a luxurious treat when I use Deep Steep to take a bubble bath, or to moisturize my skin. The scents are beautiful and subtle. Never overpowering. (Deep Steep products are formulated with no phthalates, parabens or chemical preservatives. Non-GMO, gluten-free, 100% vegan and cruelty-free).

And finally, COOLA is my favorite plant-based, non-toxic sunscreen brand. Sunscreen, as you should already know, is important all-year-round. Not just in the summer.

COOLA Rösilliance Organic BB+ Cream

COOLA Organic Skin Care

{ BB+ CREAM, $52.00USD| Shade: Medium/Dark }

I have been blown-away by the Rōsilliance™ SPF 30 BB+ Cream. I’ve finally found the perfect everyday sunscreen for me! This moisturizer is lightly tinted. It has a lightweight serum texture, that just sinks beautifully into my skin. I notice it also helps even my skin tone and it also gives my skin a hydrated glow.

{ ALL PRODUCTS MENTIONED CAN FOUND AT WHOLE FOODS MARKET, EXCEPT COOLA. COOLA PRODUCTS CAN BE FOUND AT SEPHORA, ULTA, NORDSTROM AND COOLASUNCARE.com }

Unknown-1

Up until recently, I’ve only tried e.l.f. makeup brushes (which I love BTW!). When I was shopping at target, I decided to get my hands on some of their beauty products and give ’em a shot!

The reason why I picked up three eyeliners is because I want to test a variety to do a winged-liner. I’m actually not that great when it comes to doing the whole winged-liner look (with liquid liner or pens, specifically). I wanted to find a good formula, a long-lasting formula and an easy to use product. I want to master the winged-liner! And after swatching these liners, I’m excited to try them.

As you can probably tell from the pictures above, the Lip Stain bleeds a little. So if you have particularly dry lips, or lines around your mouth, then this product may not be for you. I’m not sure it’s for me either. It fees like a wet marker going on my lips. I’ll give it a fair shot though to see how I truly feel about the lip stain. I think I’ll really love the others I purchased. I like the shades + the formulas seem to be very hydrating too. The Red Carpet Moisturizing  lipstick is more sheer, rather than fully opaque, but it is buildable and you can achieve an opaque look. I love this shade red. A pretty option for the Holidays. The Lip Balm Tint is the perfect balm. Hydrating and with just a hint of color. I built it up for the photos, but the NUDE shade is really sheer. The perfect lip product if you want something hydrating and natural for everyday. I will keep this in my gym bag or on my bedside table.

The blush is so pretty. Again, a good option for everyday, and it will go with almost any makeup look. The photos don’t do this shade justice (I tried my best). It is the perfect peachy-coral with a beautiful sheen finish. Really a soft and pigmented formula.

Have you tried any of the e.l.f. cosmetics products? Let me know what you like!

Top 5: Nude-Pink Lipsticks | Sephora, Lancôme, ColourPop, Buxom, Wet n Wild

Top 5 Nude-pink lipsticks 5 Nude-Pink lipstick swatch

Sephora Rouge CreamDecollete | Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipstick – Bare It All | Lancôme Shine LoverTwisted Beige | ColourPopCookie | Buxom Full-On Lipstick – Sydney

These are my current Top 5 nude-pink lipsticks.

Decollete, is definitely more of a warm rose-nude shade. In my opinion, it goes well with almost any look and compliments many skin tones. The Sephora Rouge Cream Lipsticks are highly pigmented, affordable, and the formula is hydrating + creamy. And this shade makes my teeth look a lot whiter (bonus)!

Bare It All, is my perfect go-to warm nude shade. And at just under $2USD, you can bare to grab a bunch next time you’re at your local drugstore! I actually own 3. I find that the MegaLast lipstick formula is longwearing on me + not very drying to my lips. I like to apply a balm on my lips first under most of my lipsticks anyway, just for an extra boost of hydration. MegaLast claims to be a long-lasting 4-hour formula. For me, I find that I have to touch up after about 2–2.5 hours.

Twisted Beige, is a beautiful + subtle cool-toned pink-nude shade. Lancôme Shine Lover is a hydrating glossy lipstick. It’s the perfect marriage between a lipstick and a gloss, with out being too glossy (does that make sense?). It’s such a pretty color. I really love this formula. it’s very comfortable to wear and great for everyday.

Cookie. Oh, Cookie-Cookie…I love my Lippie Stix‘s from at ColourPop! I own MANY! And Cookie is definitely another go-to warm-toned nude for me. When in doubt, I choose Cookie. This shade is a matte formula. So if you’re not into the matte lipsticks, don’t go for this one. The Lippie Stix formula is not long lasting but the colors are so pigmented and pretty, that I can overlook this minor detail. And because they are so affordable I can’t really complain. And ColourPop just launched their new Fall 2015 collection, so go check it out!

And my final fave is Sydney. I own 3 Buxom Full-On lipsticks. Sydney is a cool-toned pinkish-nude shade. This lip-tingling lipstick is matte, yet hydrating. The tingling sensation it gives my lips is NOT overpowering. I actually avoid buying products that claim to be lip-plumping + tingley because my lips actually feel like they’re burning! But not with the Full-On lipsticks. The sensation is very mild. I also like how the product is shaped. It’s like I’m applying a lip liner. I can be more precise. And for those with smaller lips, this will great. It also comes with a built-in sharpener to keep that perfect point!

{ Black Jeggings | Pullover Sweater | Flowy Cowlneck Top Olive Dress | Panama Hat  | Knotted Necklace  | Ivory Trench | Liquid Lipstick | Night Balm  }

This is what I’ve had my eye on lately… So naturally, they’ve made my Wednesday Wish List Series. I usually accumulate a list over the course of a couple of nights. I like browsing around online while sipping on tea.

I noticed I actually like a lot of outfits from Splendid. I didn’t really notice that until I started working on this post. But I like that the looks are still chic but comfy. I can see myself wearing those cute new jeggings with a slightly oversized lightweight sweater, while running errands. I would still look put together but be COMFORTABLE. Which is EVERYTHING to me as a stay-at-home-mom!  Of course here in Florida we don’t get a typical Fall or Winter (*sigh), but I definitely like to dress the part as much as I can!

The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade DAMNED – a black cherry color, is a cool vampy shade + perfectly on trend for the season. I’m not afraid of dark or bright lip shades. I have fun with makeup + enjoy trying something new!

This SLEEP TIGHT FIRMING NIGHT BALM by Farmacy, is a new product at Sephora. I’m all about getting benefits while sleeping! I love trying night treatments and sleep masks. This one has good reviews thus far online…something to try.
