Acure Brightening Exfoliator

Current Favorite Organic Skin Care Products | Acure, Evan Healy + Coola

July 29, 2016

Favorite Organic Skin Care ProductsI’ve been using these products from 2-6 months. Long enough for me to see the difference in my skin and be able to talk about them with confidence.

These organic skin care products have become part of my everyday ritual.

What I LOVE about organic skincare, besides the obvious, better-for-your-skin answer. Is that these specific brands are not only better for your skin, but also for the planet, are cruelty-free, and chock-full of fresh & pure ingredients.

Evan Healy Sea Algae Serum

{ Sea Algae Serum, $39.95USD }

Just like the farm-to-table concept, Evan Healy incorporates a plant-to-skin sourcing philosophy. This brand works directly with farmers, plant distilleries & tribal villages. Not only to make wonderful hand-crafted beauty, but also to help sustain these villages, women + children, and farms. So essentially if you buy Evan Healy products, you’re not only going to have better, more beautiful skin, but you’ll be a part of something bigger!

This serum is MAGIC! Hands-down the best eye product I’ve tried so far. That’s a big statement coming from me. It has amazing ingredients such as:

…”fresh raspberry leaf extract, known for its skin firming effect, Hyaluronic acid, which holds moisture to skin forming a protective barrier. Seaweed, algae, and sea buckthorn berry oil combine to firm and nourish, Gotu Kola supports the body’s synthesis of collagen, and connective tissue maintenance…” (Click the link above to find out more about what these pure ingredients do)!

Though it has “serum” in its name, it has more of a milk consistency to me. It sinks directly into the skin, so I never have a greasy or thick creamy under-eye area, which you know is a nightmare to put concealer over! I also feel an almost instant firming feeling…every time. Which to me suggests it doesn’t lose its potency. And I’ve also noticed a brighter & firmer eye area. Seriously…THE BEST!

ACURE

{ Day Cream | Normal-Dry Skin | $16.99USD }

ACURE has quickly become another favorite of mine. This sustainable company similarly uses plant and food-based ingredients to get real results. ACURE’s Mission is simple- …”feeding your skin properly as you would your body internally is the only way to optimize its function…”

I use this day cream for those days that I know I’ll be staying in at home, or when I need that extra moisture. It has a lovely citrus scent. It can be worn day/night, and under make up too because although it’s very moisturizing, it is not thick or greasy feeling.

ACURE

{ Seriously Firming Facial Serum (oil), $19.99USD | Rosehip Oil, $10.99USD }

I started with these oils from the line first, and then I was hooked. After I saw and felt the difference of skin I was convinced to keep trying more from this brand. Besides my occasional hormonal break-outs, my skin has never looked more healthy.

I mix 1 drop of each oil into the palm of my hands, and apply these oils every day/night.

Rosehip oil balances the oils in your skin because of its low pH. It also contains essential fatty acids and vitamin E. The Seriously Firming Facial oil, contains rich antioxidants, organ oil, borage oil and cranberry. All of these ingredients work together to help revitalize the skin, restore moisture, soothe inflammation, and get rid of free radicals.

ACURE

{ Brightening Vegetable Peel, couldn’t find on websites. Use Facial Scrub. | Brightening Facial Scrub, $9.99USD }

I couldn’t find this peel anywhere, I’m sorry! BUT I found it at my local Whole Foods market. If you, can I suggest you look for it there. If you have sensitive skin and never got along with peels, then you must try this one. I found that It’s gentle, yet effective in brightening, clearing and smoothing my skins texture.

Okay, so I love using this scrub! It smells like kale & lemons- haha, but totally worth it (the natural scent doesn’t bother me)! It contains sea kelp and lemon peel to gently exfoliate your skin, and French green clay removes oil and impurities. My skin looks & feels squeaky clean after I use this 3 times a week. I’m ADDICTED! It’s good for all skin types.

Deep Steep

{ Body Butter, $10.95USD }

Deep Steep, is one of my favorite go-to natural brands for the body. Specifically, I enjoy the Body Butter, Bubble Bath and Sugar Scrub. It’s like a luxurious treat when I use Deep Steep to take a bubble bath, or to moisturize my skin. The scents are beautiful and subtle. Never overpowering. (Deep Steep products are formulated with no phthalates, parabens or chemical preservatives. Non-GMO, gluten-free, 100% vegan and cruelty-free).

And finally, COOLA is my favorite plant-based, non-toxic sunscreen brand. Sunscreen, as you should already know, is important all-year-round. Not just in the summer.

COOLA Rösilliance Organic BB+ Cream

COOLA Organic Skin Care

{ BB+ CREAM, $52.00USD| Shade: Medium/Dark }

I have been blown-away by the Rōsilliance™ SPF 30 BB+ Cream. I’ve finally found the perfect everyday sunscreen for me! This moisturizer is lightly tinted. It has a lightweight serum texture, that just sinks beautifully into my skin. I notice it also helps even my skin tone and it also gives my skin a hydrated glow.

{ ALL PRODUCTS MENTIONED CAN FOUND AT WHOLE FOODS MARKET, EXCEPT COOLA. COOLA PRODUCTS CAN BE FOUND AT SEPHORA, ULTA, NORDSTROM AND COOLASUNCARE.com }

Dry Brushing

I heard about dry brushing through a Holistic Nutritionist over a year ago. I am now finally trying it and been dry brushing for almost 3 weeks. I wanted to share with you what dry brushing is, why it’s so beneficial, and why you should add it to your weekly skin care routine.

What is dry brushing:  Using a firm body brush to promote healthier skin from the inside—out.

The benefits:  An excellent way to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells. If you dry brush regularly, it improves the appearance of cellulite making the skin look and feel firmer. Dry brushing also stimulates circulation which helps naturally detoxify the skin.

I also do it before I self tan to prep my skin, or after to help remove dry patches in-between my faux tans. Dry brushing helps my products I use absorb better into my skin. I have personally noticed smoother, less dry skin thus far.

How to do it:  Use the dry brush on dry skin 5-10 minutes before showering. Start at your feet and work upwards to your heart using circular and upward motions. Start dry brushing every other day, and then daily if you want. Dry brushing should feel good, a tingling or invigorating feeling. It should NOT hurt.

I really enjoy the invigorating feeling I get during dry brushing and a few minutes after. If you do it for a few minutes in the morning, it really helps you ‘wake-up!’ I imagine that tingling feeling is my body detoxifying.

What to get:  I got my body brush at Whole Foods Market. But you can find one here and here.

Today I wanted to share with you some of the beauty products I will be using this week over my staycation with my husband, Tony. He and I will be celebrating our 4th Wedding Anniversary (TODAY, 2/11» Yay!) + Valentine’s Day. Since it’s a little hard to actually leave town while still nursing my baby boy, Tony + I chose to stay at a resort on Miami Beach. We truly live in paradise, and we’re glad we can take advantage of our beautiful city to celebrate this week. I can’t wait to relax, SLEEP, wine + dine, go dancing, sunbathe + just really take this time for each other, because we really deserve it!

Ok, so these are some of the products I’ll be using. Mostly all new, so I’m really excited to try them out this week. » P.S:  Keep checking my instagram for posts on my beauty looks, outfits (#ootd/#ootn) and beautiful Miami Beach!

I loved this shimmer brick when I tried it on in the store. At first, I thought it was going to be too glittery, but it gave such a pretty shimmery rose glow. Just apply it slightly above your cheek bone – great to use for a special occasion. I’ll try it when we’re going out to dinner. I’m also excited about this ever popular contour kit. I have never really contoured my face before, but I have always been curious to try it. This kit has been sold out everywhere I went! I found only one left at the last store I tried. Valentine's Day Beauty

I can’t spend this special week with my love with out some seductive scent. So I’m bringing a couple good ones! This one I’ve had for about 3 weeks now. It’s such a lovely, light and alluring fragrance. Also, for a beautiful summer glow look, I’m trying the Beach Stick in ‘Moon Beach.’ It’s an easy product to use while on vacation. And finally, I just LOVE YSL lip products! The colors are just beautiful + the formula is creamy, hydrating and long-wearing. It’s no surprise that I bought a few for this week too…I mean did you see those colors?!  My favorite red lipstick is Le Rouge Num. 001.

Tartelette eye shadow palette | Mally eyeliner { color: Gunmetal + Enchanted Violet } | Shiseido eyebrow pencil { natural black } | NARS matte lip pencil { Paimpol }| essie nail polish { east hampton cottage }| Borghese eye treatment

I bought these products just this week. I’ve tried a few products so far (the eye cream, matte lip pencil + nail polish), I’m excited to try the rest! I’ll let you know how it goes with a follow-up post…

Tartelette Amazonian clay matte paletteTartletteThe Amazonian clay matte palette was created for all the devoted ‘Tartelettes’ out there. Inspired by the many types of women who proudly wear Tarte products: the ‘fashionistas,’ the ‘super moms’ and ‘free spirits,’ just to name a few of the beautiful matte shades in this palette.

All 12 new matte shades are infused with Amazonian clay. Which means, this formula is actually hydrating + good for your skin. This palette was also designed so that you can use each row, from left to right, as an eye look — From your base color, lid, crease and liner. Or have fun with it and mix it up! I love a little sparkle like many girls do, but how pretty are these universal matte colors?! Every girl needs good (and good-for-you) matte shadows!

Mally Evercolor waterproof liner

I already own two of these liners + love them! When I saw they were offered at an Event Price on QVC – I had to get more!

mally eyeliner

{ Top → Bottom:  ‘Gunmetal’ + ‘Enchanted Violet.’ }

Shiseido eyebrow pencil

I’m always willing to try a new brow pencil. What I need is to lightly fill in my brow, naturally. It’s SO IMPORTANT to fill them in ladies! No matter if yours are thin or thick – ya just gotta complete your face! This one seems like it could be good one for me…?

NARS matte lip pencil

I’m a fan of NARS lip products. I’ve never tried their lip pencils though, but when I saw this pretty color { paimpol } I thought I’d give it a shot! This lilac-pink shade will transition great into spring and summer too.

Essie nail polish

I love white nail polish. And after all the fun reds and festive colors I was using over the holidays, I was ready to tone it down a bit this week. This one happens to a pinky-white shade with a subtle shimmer. ♥

Borghese skin care products are available exclusively at Target, as part of their luxury line. Thought I’d give this a try. It’s affordable + this line has great reviews online.
