{ S’mores on the beach + a bonfire. Just us. }

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I’ve been M.I.A! Tony and I were on vacation and spent some wonderful time in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We stayed at the Rosewood Mayakoba Resort, in a private beachfront suite + let me just say, it was fabulous! Many margaritas were enjoyed! Then the day after we got back I spent the next two days in bed with like a stomach virus- ugh, the worst! Must of caught the bug in the plane on the way back, or it could’ve been the gross quickie lunch we picked up at the airport?
Anyway, its been hard to get back into the swing of things. My head is still in Mexico. I mean, can ya blame me? Did you see those pictures?!

This week I’ve also started planning Mason’s first birthday party! I CAN’T BELIEVE it’s right around the corner! My baby boy is growing up so fast…Both of my boys are! Ahhh, so sad.

Since he’s an August Summer baby, I’ve decided to plan a Pirate PArrrty! Not to be confused with Jake and the Neverland Pirates, but just a good old pirates theme. Anyone who knows me knows I like a good themed party. But even for the kiddies, I tend to do less cartoonish parties and do a little more ‘elegant-kiddy,’ if that makes sense. Hey, I’m taking advantage while I still have a say in what the themes are- haha! I found some really cute pirate inspiration on Pinterest, of course.

Check out this adorable pirate cake I found on Pinterest! It’s still fun, but less cartoon-y which I like. I already ordered his invitations. I found some great ones on Minted! If you haven’t ordered from Minted, check this website out because it’s great for finding announcements, invitations, Holiday cards and even some party decorations.

I will share with you more ideas + what I end up buying & even decorating ideas as the party nears.pirate-ship-cake

Last note:  I’m now on Snapchat- whaaaat! Username:  petalsandpumps.

Yup, I will be sharing some little snips of my life on there too! This is kinda a test for me to see if I would attempt on having my own YouTube channel one day…Who knows! What do you think?   Add me if you have an account. Thanks!

Ok, that’s it for now…

Have a great weekend!

My Monday-Friday at home with the boys is typically the same. As a mom, I quickly learned that keeping a tight schedule is the best thing for my babies, and for me to be able to run my household effectively & keep my sanity!

So after the boys are fed, playtime is over, and Mason goes down for his morning nap, I’m able to eat my breakfast and then get ready. When I’m in ‘mom-mode’ I want to be comfortable and effortless in what I wear, and how I do my makeup. I barely have time to get ready sometimes and I usually feel rushed. So my mommy morning makeup routine is quick, easy and natural. I just want to feel put together (and not scare my husband when he comes home from work too – haha!).

What I pictured above may seem like a lot of makeup, but it’s really not. I don’t use all of those products everyday. I showed 2 blush options, 2 lip options + 2 highlighter/concealer options. I wanted to show you what I typically go for, depending on how I feel that day. Sometimes I want a cream blush, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I need more coverage – so I may use both concealers, etc. I also wanted to show you my go-to everyday makeup brushes. I have MANY brushes, but I find I reach for these the most. And I definitely love doing a simple makeup look using peachy-coraly tones. I feel I look more refreshed when I use these type of shades with my complexion.

5 Blogger Goals for 2015

December 30, 2014

I’m still new at the blogger thing. But I’m teaching myself, learning + passionate everyday! Even though I may not have as much time to devote to it as I really want/need…I really do love it + want my lovely little blog to become a lovely, big, amazing, super-duper blog (is that too much to ask?)! I know that blogs need time. Lots of it. And right now, I’m split a gazillion different ways. I’m a stay-at-home-mom to a 2-year-old + a 4-month-old (need I say more)? But I will. My days are consumed by my beautiful little boys. There’s nothing more I love than to be a mom to my two babies. And I’m fortunate enough to be able to stay home with them! I breastfeed, clean, cook, kiss boo-boos, change diapers, run to the “potty” 15 times a day (with my potty trained toddler), cuddle, teach, play and on it goes… But then there is Petals and Pumps, my other little baby. My 5 blogger goals for 2015, are devoted to her!

1.  Grow my blog and social media followers.:  It’s a damn hard thing to do. I’m realizing it takes hard work, patience + persistence.

2.  Carve out more time to do what I love:  share/write/blog.

3.  Be more organized + plan, plan, plan!:  I’m actually a pretty organized person. I’m a to-do list freak + an avid note taker. But still, I need to organize my blog topics/ideas better + plan ahead. This will help me become a better blogger (and help my sanity – hahaha!).

NYE 2015 Blogger Goals

{ based on my collection, I’d say I’m ready to get organized + plan! Power Sheets, To-Do List, Blog Planner.}

4.  Inspire!:  Who doesn’t want to inspire others and be inspired?! If I can help women become more confident, learn something new or even just help a fellow momma out there feel like they’re not alone in this mommyhood thing  (because being a stay-at-home-mom can feel pretty lonely at times), then I’ve done my job!

{ my boys and I back in October. }

5.  Collaborate:  I would love to start working with other bloggers and/or companies that share the same passions as I do in 2015. Show and inspire my readers more, together!

NYE Blogger Goals

{ yay – beauty products + pretty things! }

What are your professional or personal goals? Would love to hear them!

Happy, Healthy + Blessed New Year to all!

Family Christmas Pictures

{ my husband Tony, Kristen, Liam (2) + baby Mason (4 months). }

I wanted to share just a few family Christmas pictures with you all!

The Holidays came so fast this year, didn’t it?! I barely got my Christmas cards out in time. We just got through celebrating my son Liam’s 2nd birthday party too (post on that later). We did all our Christmas shopping in one day – on the 22nd!

With a new baby and hosting all the holiday festivities (from Thanksgiving to Christmas brunch) at our house, I’m so ready to relax Christmas Day in my jammies – ALL DAY with my family!

We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas + a Healthy + Prosperous New Year!
